Faith, Hope & Love Ministries (FHLM), registered as FHLM International (NPC), a Non-Profit Company in South Africa with registration number 2025/038188/08, is committed to safeguarding your privacy and ensuring the protection of your personal data.

This Privacy Policy explains how Daily Serene Uplift collects, uses, stores, and protects information in connection with the Daily Serene Uplift mobile application. It is intended to be read as the app-specific privacy policy for this application.

  1. What the app does

Daily Serene Uplift is a Christian devotional app designed to provide a daily reflection, Scripture reading, prayer, and related reading tools. The app is designed to work mainly with content bundled inside the app itself.

  1. Information the app stores on your device

The app stores certain information locally on your device so that it can function properly and remember your choices. This may include:

  • your selected Bible version
  • your reading preferences, such as theme, font style, and font size
  • your daily reminder setting, including whether reminders are enabled and the time chosen
  • your saved favourites, such as favourited verses and daily devotional items
  • basic onboarding state, such as whether the welcome flow has already been completed

This information is stored locally on the device and is used only to operate the app and preserve your preferences.

  1. Information the app does not collect through the app

Daily Serene Uplift does not collect personal information through the app itself such as:

  • your name
  • your email address
  • your telephone number
  • your postal address
  • your contacts
  • your precise location
  • your photos or media
  • your microphone or camera data
  • payment card information
  • account login credentials

The app does not require you to create an account.

  1. Data transmission, analytics, and advertising

The app is not designed to transmit your personal data to FHLM International through the app itself.

The app does not include:

  • in-app account registration
  • third-party advertising
  • in-app behavioural advertising trackers
  • in-app analytics or usage profiling
  • in-app crash reporting services that send your personal data to FHLM International through the app itself
  1. Permissions used by the app

The app may request or use the following Android permissions and capabilities:

  • Notifications: so that daily reminders can be shown if you choose to enable them
  • Exact alarm capability: so that reminder notifications can be scheduled at the time you choose
  • Boot completed capability: so that reminders can be restored after a device restart if you have enabled them

These permissions are used only for the app’s reminder function.

  1. Notifications and reminders

If you enable daily reminders, the reminder time and reminder status are stored locally on your device. The app uses that information to schedule a local notification.

You can change or turn off reminders at any time in the app’s Settings.

  1. Device backup and restore

Because Android may back up app data as part of the device’s own backup, restore, or device-transfer features, information stored locally by the app may also be included in those processes, depending on the user’s device, Android version, and backup settings.

FHLM International does not separately access that backup data through the app itself.

  1. Sharing of information

The app does not sell your personal data.

The app does not share personal data with third parties through the app itself because the app is not designed to collect and transmit that personal data in the first place.

  1. External links and external apps

The app may contain links to external websites or may allow you to open an email app if you tap a web address or email address shown in the app.

If you choose to open an external website or external app, your use of that external service is governed by the privacy policy and terms of that service, not by this app privacy policy.

  1. If you contact us outside the app

If you contact FHLM International by email, through the website, or by another channel outside the app, we may process the information you provide in order to respond to your enquiry or provide support. That processing is governed by the privacy practices applicable to that separate channel.

  1. Children

Daily Serene Uplift is intended for a general audience. The app itself does not knowingly collect personal information from children through in-app data collection.

  1. Data retention

Information stored by the app remains on your device until one or more of the following happens:

  • you change or remove it in the app
  • you clear the app’s data
  • you uninstall the app
  • the data is removed as part of normal device management by the user or operating system

Backed-up copies, where applicable, are controlled by the user’s device and backup settings.

  1. Security

The app is designed to keep its operating data on the user’s device. No software system can guarantee absolute security, but Daily Serene Uplift is intentionally designed to minimise data handling by avoiding unnecessary collection and transmission of personal information through the app itself.

  1. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app, legal requirements, or operational practices. The current version should be made available with the app and, where applicable, on an FHLM International website page dedicated to the app.
